What was when & what was how – Many of you always ask us about the limited edition colors and the different generations of Hugo.
Therefore, we quickly decided: We'll create an informative blog post for you that is primarily intended to help you and that we can refer to much better when certain questions arise.
This blog post will therefore focus on the Limited Edition colors, the Classic colors, and the different generations of Hugo 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. We also have a great tip for you if you have any further questions or want to discuss specific topics with the community.
The availability of backpacks and bags is divided into two categories: there are the Classic and the Limited colors.
The classic colors are always available in the shop . Since 2022, the two current classic colors are black (Cordura) and light gray (rPES) . rPES = recycled polyester. You can learn more about both materials in this blog post .
We'd be happy to explain: As a special feature, we have our limited edition colors. Once the stock runs out, that's it for the limited edition color. Currently, in addition to the classic colors, we also have Hugo in sand, blue, and mustard yellow.
Caro sewed the first 100 Hugos herself from oilskin between 2017 and approximately April 2019. After that, Hugo was industrially manufactured from Cordura.
From when was a limited edition color introduced.
From 2019 onwards, Hugo was available in dark grey, and that was also the first limited edition colour ever.
The community's desire grew stronger and stronger: the new Hugo needed an external bottle compartment. Therefore, one of the first changes we had to implement for and with you was the external bottle compartment . (For bottles up to 8cm in diameter)
To ensure that the weight of your Hugo is evenly distributed on both sides , the two bottle nets inside were separated and one of them was placed on the left side.
The front compartment now has a water-repellent zipper and is also equipped with a key clip . Now nothing will get in, and you can immediately access your car keys without having to open the backpack.
We listened to you, and even though we always avoided it: With the introduction of Hugo 3.0, an adjustable chest strap was included. If you don't need it, you can simply remove the chest strap.
You've probably noticed that cell phones are getting bigger and bigger. We've made the smartphone compartment on the outside of the Hugo larger , so now even newer phones fit and can be accessed without taking the Hugo off.
